Running for Zach. Step by step. Here’s another poem for today.
———
Step By Step by Barbara Cornet Ryberg
He does not lead me year by year
Nor even day by day,
But step by step my path unfolds;
My Lord directs my way.
Tomorrow’s plans I do not know,
I only know this minute;
But He will say, “This is the way,
By faith now walk ye in it.”
And I am glad that it is so,
Today’s enough to bear;
And when tomorrow comes, His grace
Shall far exceed its care.
What need to worry then or fret?
The God who gave his son
Holds all my moments in his hand
And gives them, one by one.
Today’s Updates:
Today we had a family meeting to discuss the transfer to Calgary. The hope is to send Zach to Foothills Hospital this weekend. The medical team answered all of our questions and concerns regarding the transfer. The doctor assured us that this will be a safe transfer and beneficial for Zach in the long term. If all goes smoothly with organizing the transfer, Zach’s amputation will be delayed until they perform it at Foothills. Please pray for peace for Zach, Ed, Alice and Megan with the transfer to Calgary.
Zach was quite restless today with a high heart rate despite medication adjustments. With Zach being so agitated, and because of his difficulty holding up his head yesterday, physio decided to give Zach a break from the chair positioning today. We continue to pray that Zach’s brain may heal and that he will be able to rest tonight.
Zach got another CT of his lungs yesterday. The imaging showed slight improvement in the lung with the chest tube, but not a lot of changes otherwise. As mentioned in a previous update, Zach will keep his chest tube in for a long time because of the dead space in his lung. We are glad to see improvements, however small, and we are also glad that Zach has been off the ventilator for almost a week now.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We rest in the assurance that God is completely in control of every situation and that He is always near.
