The theme for today is: Nearness.

Psalm 145:14-21. A psalm for the falling. A psalm for the fallen. A psalm for the hungry and the filled. A psalm for those who long and those who cry. A psalm for those who love God. A psalm for those who draw near to God. Another psalm that speaks for itself.

Are you falling? I am. “The Lord upholds all who fall.”

Have you fallen? I have. “The Lord…raises up all who are bowed down.”

Are you hungry? I am. “The eyes of all look expectantly to You.”

Have you been filled? I have. “You give them their food in due season.”

Are you longing? I am. “He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him.”

Have you cried? I have. “He also will hear their cry and save them.”

Are you loving the Lord your God? I am. “He preserves all those who love Him.”

Have you felt God’s nearness? I have. “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”

Psalm 145:14-21. A psalm of God’s nearness. A psalm of God’s nurture and care. A psalm of God’s love. God’s love for us. God’s love for Zach.  A psalm worth singing. A psalm worth living.

Today’s Updates:

Zach was more restless today compared to the past few days. His heart rate remained very high the whole day despite multiple attempts to make him relaxed and comfortable. We pray that Zach is able to rest tonight.

Zach is still doing great on the trach mask, and we are glad that he’s been off the ventilator for a few days now. The doctors say that Zach is going to keep his current chest tube in for a long time because of the dead space in his lung.

As mentioned yesterday, Zach is expected to have surgery for his feet next week. The surgeons told us that they will likely amputate in the middle of Zach’s shins as this is better for weight bearing prosthetics in the future. This was difficult news to hear, as Zach will be losing much more of his legs than we had hoped. Please pray for Zach in anticipation for this life changing surgery.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Zach. We miss talking with Zach and we ask that you continue to pray for his recovery, that one day we will get to interact with him again.

Come near to God and He will come near to you.” (James 4:8)

“The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.

You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.

Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.”

(Psalm 145:14-21)
